My fascination with the built environment has drawn me to both the city and the country. Cities, for their dynamism, robust architecture and grittiness, and the country for its solitude, backroads, and traditional buildings. I particularly enjoy the blending of urban and rural such as a wild bit of nature in the city or a mill town nestled in a wooded valley. I’m constantly on the alert for the next painting.
My love of art and cities brought me to Parsons School of Design and to the urban planning program at New York University. I enjoyed a challenging career with the New York City Department of City Planning, helping to enhance the pedestrian experience through quality urban design. Now, my love of art, the countryside and cities is being expressed through my paintings.
