Elizabeth Stern
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sources of inspiration for the work of Elizabeth Stern range from early memories poring over her father’s medical textbooks, recent advances in neuronal imaging and long, enjoyable hours spent hiking or in the garden. Using various painting and printmaking techniques, Stern often adds elements of collage and stitching to build upon the organic shapes and lines. “I often see a greater landscape in the most microscopic elements,” she has said of her work. “Ultimately there are connections everywhere.”
